Here are two tracks of music I contributed to the whirling research of Naïma Ferré. While Naïma was whirling I improvised with a pre-arranged setup in the music software Ableton Live. Also, I did loops of some vocal snippets, mainly throat singing, breathing and some stuff inspired by Inuit Katajjait singing.

Whirling is a practice from the Sufi tradition, Naïma approaches it from the perspective of a contemporary dancer, quite similar to the way I approach throat singing – not trying to recreate an ‘original’ context but to explore what´s in it for me now.
